Yes, I have thought that way about my writing plenty of times.
In the beginning, when I just started writing like you are, it was new and I was so discouraged because it was hard to string words together eloquently. There was a lot of frustration, a lot of headbanging and getting stuck against a wall.
But when you first start out writing, it can be like that. You’re new to it, so you’re often comparing yourself to others. It can take a while before you settle into a groove and feel comfortable with your own, unique style. And while a measure of dissatisfaction can be healthy in writing, often a lot of that goes away after you’ve been writing for a while.
So yes, I have felt the same way as you before. But it does ease quite a bit over time as you practice, practice, practice, and as you grow and become comfortable with your writing. Writing is a growth process and you’ll ultimately learn a lot about yourself through it-and learning about yourself takes time.
So don’t worry, because it will definitely get easier. And I say that from experience. It’s not the generic, “it gets better” advice; it’s actually true. So keep hope.
And thank you! :)
