So I have been puzzled about going to college for creative writing because I want to be a writer. But of course to everyone I talk to (in my town), "it's a weak field and not worth the money". I was wondering if you were continuing writing as a career or a hobby in hopes to make it your career?

Creative writing is not a weak field in any way. It’s called “creative” writing for a reason. Money isn’t the most important thing in life, but having a true passion for something is.

I will continue my writing, hopefully one day even as a career of some sort. :)
