hi there, i have a question about vocab, if it's not too much of a problem. what is, if any, the difference between the words, ingrained and engrained?

Hello! :)

“Ingrained” is an adjective. It means something is securely fixed or established; something is rooted in place and is difficult to remove or change.

“Engrained” is a verb, meaning to firmly fix or establish something in a person.

So, to the best of my knowledge, you would use “ingrained” as an adjective to describe something that is firmly established, but you would use “engrained” to describe the act of making that something firmly established.

I hope that helped! <3
