what's the use of "rotten nectarines" mean to you in your poems? sorry if this is really obvious, i'm not very good at stuff like this x

To me, it just symbolizes something that was once sweet and is now ruined and broken. Oftentimes I’ve used it in my pieces about domestic abuse/dating violence.

You think of fruit as sweet and fleshy and delicious, like the beginning of the relationship, but when fruit rots, it leaks sludge and juice, like the point at which the relationship has gone sour and has taken a turn for the worse.
