Hello! Hmm…I’m not really sure how to answer that first question. I get so much inspiration from other writers, but I get most of my inspiration from real-life conversations or events. I also carry a notebook with me, in which I jot down key phrases or a few notes whenever something inspires me. For some reason, newspaper articles give me a lot to write about, or current events. For example, I wrote about the Steubenville rape case after reading about it in the newspaper, and I wrote about PTSD after reading a Huffington Post article about military suicides.
It normally takes me anywhere from 20 minutes to half an hour to write one poem. To answer the question, “How do you make it all up in your head like you do?” - I guess I just have a good imagination?
I hope that answered your questions! :)
Have a great day.
