I have been trying to write a poem about my rapist for nearly two years and could never get close to finishing it. It is not long, but I would just sit shaking at the notebook or the screen. I think, today, it is as done as it will ever be. More than just the poem is done, in some ways. You will never know how much your writing has helped me come to the place where I am ready to do my own and fight my demons.
