I posted “But I’m not sure what those little writing pieces would be about" before I even started Brain Notes.
At that point, I had already decided that my new project would consist of posting little handwritten snippets from my writing notebook, but I wasn’t sure what those handwritten snippets would contain. I was trying to decide whether they should be some of my favorite quotes, tiny poems I’d written, random thoughts of mine, favorite memories, or what.
So I asked my followers what, specifically, the handwritten snippets should contain, and the general consensus was that they should be random thoughts of mine.
So I decided, then, that Brain Notes would be handwritten snippets of my random thoughts from my writing notebook.
Once I decided that, I started actually writing the Brain Notes themselves.
Every single Brain Note is written by me; I do not accept submissions or others’ ideas, and that is because my followers helped me decide that they should be my own random thoughts.
If they are supposed to be my own thoughts, why would I ever accept submissions for Brain Notes from other people?
That would be other peoples’ thoughts, not mine.
I asked my followers for help in deciding what the project should actually consist of. Then I started the project myself.
That’s much different than asking them to submit their own pieces of writing for me to post for Brain Notes.
Brain Notes are my own thoughts, not the thoughts of others.
