1. Take some time off. Go for a walk or something or swim or eat some food. Get your mind off your book and clear your head.
2. Exercise to get some energy to come back to your book with a fresh perspective.
3. Search for certain issues in your book that may be causing you to get stuck. Read over your drafts and previous writing and try to identify those issues and revise them.
4. Then take a look at the good parts just to give yourself a little boost in confidence.
5. Then, now that you’ve smoothed out some rough patches and celebrated the smooth patches, get down to work on the rest of your book.
6. Maybe add something interesting, like another minor character or a spot of conflict, or reintroduce someone from the beginning. Make something exciting happen.
7. Use some writing prompts if you’re still stuck.
8. Try writing a plot summary to help you identify where the plot needs some action.
9. Search for loose ends and tie them up.
10. Then hand your manuscript over to a reader and let them mull through at least some of it; then ask them for their opinion or any advice they have.
11. Listen to their advice and revise accordingly.
Best of luck! c:
