Hi! I was wondering if you could help with some ways of describing eyecolours such as blue, brown and green? I have a bad habit of using clichès and I don't really know how to get rid of it.

Blue- His/her eyes were as blue as the prominent veins in a junkie’s damaged wrist, the mountains that turn deep cerulean at night and then burn off their colors with the fog at dawn, the butterflies whose shimmery wings could compete with the colors of the ocean waves.

Brown- His/her eyes were as brown as the soil a loved one lies beneath for eternity, the dark chocolate that leaves a bitter taste in the mouth but always a desire for more, the smooth rich coffee beans whose scent when crushed is overpowering for a caffeine addict.

Green- His/her eyes were as green as tomatoes that have not yet ripened and still have the fresh tinge of newness, forests whose emerald depths are the closest thing any human can get to magic, moss that breaks off tenderly in strands when torn from the earth.
