You might not have answered the question yourself, but I still want to thank you because of the hefty advice I got from your followers. Thank you! Anyway, I have a question and it's bugging me for quite sometime now; do you think it is possible to be novelist and poet at the same time? I want to excel at both, but it seems as if I only write better chapters for my fiction story and mediocre pieces of poems/prose.

Yes, I do think it’s entirely possible to be a novelist and poet at the same time. In fact, it’s quite proven; just look at Margaret Atwood, Charles Bukowski, etc.

You might be better at one than the other, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be both.
