Hey! To be honest, there’s really not much you can do to get featured on the poetry tag. The poetry editors choose which poems to feature based on what they read, but it probably helps to at least tag your writings as poetry. If you’d like to work on getting a wider audience for your poetry blog, there’s a really great post here that gives a bunch of tips on how to accomplish that.
As far as writing six-word stories, you said they normally turn into longer poems. I’d suggest starting out with a longer story, then. Maybe first write about a two or three sentence story. Then start cutting out all the unnecessary words, deleting the words that have no meaning or don’t add anything, like “that” or “like” if you have too many of those.
So just pare the story down to the bare essentials by removing as much as possible. If you do that and still have more than six words, you can always change the ending or direction of the story. Focus on writing a six-word story that makes the reader feel awed, that hits the reader like a punch to the chest.
By starting out with a longer story and cutting it down to six-words, that might be easier than just trying desperately to write a six-word story right away.
Hopefully that will help! :)
