Was it difficult for you to publish a book as a teenager?

Yes, very, considering the years of hard work I put into writing poetry and learning how to develop my own style throughout the course of those years. I don’t want to sound conceited, but I worked my ass off for this.

There were several weeks when I was working on submissions for writing contests, etc, where I worked so hard and so late into the night that I fell asleep.

Of course it’s difficult for anyone to publish a book, but it feels overwhelming to only be 18 and have a book out. It’s wonderful but very scary at times.

And as always, I owe a tremendous deal to my publisher. I couldn’t be more grateful for the enormous amount of time, work, trust, and effort he put into my writing.
