Dedicated to Writings for Winter, a great poet, the first girl to ever steal my heart with her words.
There’s a story about us,
About how a lonely writer fell in love with a poet,
How the stars aligned the beautiful molded meaning of your soft words,
To my lips, to my eyes, to my soul.
There’s a story about us,
Because I listened, and I read, and I felt I understood,
That loneliness is the most common thing of all the world’s tragedies,
And you and I my sweet, are both afflicted.
There’s a story about us,
About how when I read the fast beating of your heart,
I felt my cheeks heat up, my body shake and my fingers tremble
And I was finally reminded of what it feels like, to be left breathless.
