Writing tip: You always use "she wondered" and "the other person replied", etc. You don't have to. You can just not use those expressions, and use just the dialogue. It would sound smoother.

Oh, but that would take away the whole point. Then the reader could be confused as to who is speaking, what gender the speaker is, etc.

I want there to be two distinct characters in the Fragments, not just empty streams of dialogue. xx
