I think i want to create a separate writing/poetry blog, but I'm afraid I won't post often/ have a easily readable theme. Do you have any tips? Would you also do me the honor of reading a poem of mine if I did create a poetry blog?

There are many easily readable themes out there that you can use. sleepythemes is where I’ve often gotten my themes from; the one I have right now is actually from there. aretterthemes, lostemas, and themesbyher also have easily readable, simple themes. The best tip I can give you theme-wise is to get a single-column theme; otherwise your writing posts will be too difficult/confusing to read.

As for your fear of not posting often: I think it’s important to start out gradually, maybe with one or two pieces a week, and then see if you can eventually build up to a daily piece, and from there once you’re comfortable you might even be able to post several pieces daily. It may take time.

Also, it’s nice to get to know other writers who have their own writing blogs, and maybe even do some collaborations with them. That’s a good start and it lets you figure out your own style and form connections.

Creating a separate writing/poetry blog was one of the best things I’ve ever done. I’ve grown immensely in my writing since I began this blog, and I can honestly say my style has changed completely and hopefully for the better. With a writing blog you can really evolve as a writer. I definitely think it’s worth it.

As Natalie Goldberg wrote in Writing Down the Bones,“Play around. Dive into absurdity and write. Take chances. You will succeed if you are fearless of failure.”

P.S. Yes, of course I will read one/several of your poems if you do create a poetry blog! :)

to the anonymous who wants to create a separate writing blog: i was afraid of the same thing but it’s proven to be a space of welcome catharsis instead of a burden or obligation. i agree that seeing your writing grow is so rewarding, even if it also makes you cringe a little at the same time. best of luck, littleamalgamations
