This girl keeps coming up in my poetry (I am male). At first I let it happen, but as our relationship progresses, I have been noticing definite changes in my style. Should I let this happen? How would it affect my poetry if we broke up?

To be honest, either way, she’s still going to affect your writing.

You stay with her: she affects your writing and shows up in it.

You break up with her: she continues to affect your writing because you’ll be likely be writing about missing her.

Sometimes our relationships with people are more important than our relationships with our own art.

I know that might be hard to understand and it’s probably not what you were looking for, but I think it’s ultimately true.
